MD/CE FAAN Receives Aerodrome Recertification Of MMIA & Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja

he Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, today received the Aerodrome Recertification of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport ,Abuja and Murtala Muhammed International Airport ,Lagos.
The certificates, which was presented by the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, marks an important milestone in the aviation sector under the leadership of the Hon. Minister of Aviation, Mr Festus keyamo SAN, CON, FCIArb(UK)
DG NCAA thanked Mrs Kuku for her visionary leadership and remarkable achievement in closing up the safety gaps while praising her for providing the quality workforce to achieve this in less than one year of her stewardship.
The DG noted that the achievement is remarkable and hopes that the closing up of gaps and certification of the other airports will be more seamless
It would be recalled that the two International Airports Aerodrome Certificates expired in 2020, and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an extension was granted FAAN management, which has successfully ended today with the recertification.
The MD/CE of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, in her speech, acknowledged the effort of her untiring workforce, airport managers and the NCAA team for their resilience and good collaboration.
Mrs Kuku, who acknowledged her great pride and deep sense of humility in this achievement, promised to move ahead with the certification of the other international airports early next year .
The ceremony took place at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja.
